 Abstract:  Erastus Cushing (1802-1893) and Henry Kirke Kirke Cushing (1827-1910) were physicians, of Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, account books, writings, speeches, medical school certificates, and other papers, of Cushing and his son, Henry Kirke Cushing. Includes biographical account of Joc-O-Sot (d. 1845), Indian chief who lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and papers relating to Henry's study of portraits of Benjamin Franklin.

 Abstract:  Henry Jerry John (1885-1971) was a Cleveland, Ohio, physician who specialized in diabetes. He was born Jindrich Jeroslav John, in Czechoslovakia, and emigrated to the United States ca. 1889. He and his wife founded Camp Ho Mita Koda for diabetic children in 1929. He served in the Army Medical Corps during both world wars. The collection consists of an autobiography, biographical information, diaries, journals, correspondence, medical and literary writings, drawings, legal documents, naturalization papers, contracts, awards, certificates, newspaper clippings and miscellaneous material. Also included are papers of Elizabeth B. John and records of Camp Ho Mita Koda.
